Tax credit scenario example: Let’s say you owe the state of Arizona $1,900 in state taxes and you file jointly. You may give up to $1,000 to Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization and recommend Pusch Ridge/Cornerstone. You will only owe the balance of $900 to the state.

Tax credit scenario example: Your Arizona taxes have been taken out of your paycheck throughout the year and you find that you still owe $100 to the state. You send your contribution of $1,000 to Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization. The $100 tax liability that you owe will be deducted, and you will receive $900 as a refund.

Tax credit scenario example: Your Arizona taxes have been taken out of your paycheck throughout the year. At the end of the year you do the Arizona tax credit and send your contribution of $1,000 to Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization. You find that you are due a $500 refund from the state because you over paid your Arizona taxes throughout the year. The $500 that you were already going to receive as a refund from the state plus the $1,000 you contributed to ACSTO for your tax credit will mean that your total refund is now $1,500 from the state.

Your Sacrifice
The time it takes to understand the process, send in the check, and receive either your credit against your tax liability or your refund check.

The Benefit
