Pusch Ridge - Middle School
Community Service
Grades six through eight participate in community service projects. Unlike the high school where hours are required each quarter, each middle school class chooses a variety of community service projects that they can participate in together. Projects have included the Community Food Bank, homeless food preparation, Project Angel Tree, volunteering for Gospel rescue Mission and at various senior citizen homes and other community outreach projects.
Sporting Events
Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to attend the athletic competitions and cheer on the mighty Lions! At football games, an outdoor food court provides plenty of space for dining and socializing. Basketball and volleyball games provide concessions, so bringing the entire family and enjoying dinner while you are rooting on your favorite team is encouraged. Occasionally, the school will provide transportation to away state tournaments.
Middle-School Field Days
At the beginning of each year and then quarterly, the sixth through eighth grade classes hold Field Days. These events are designed to enhance camaraderie among the students and faculty. The students from all three grades are combined into "tribes". Field games and competitions as well as praise and worship are woven together by a Biblical theme.
Grand Canyon Trip
Each year the sixth grade class enhances their discovery of explorers with a trip to the Grand Canyon. This three-day trip includes a ride on the train from Williams, AZ to the Grand Canyon. The sixth grade class makes and sells Prickly Pear Jelly as a fundraiser to help pay for the trip to the Grand Canyon.
Washington D.C. Trip
This is an annual eighth grade student tour of Colonial Williamsburg, Washington D.C., and New York City. The seven-day tour takes place in January. Our nation's history forms the basis for this informative and fun journey through several of the original thirteen colonies, Civil War battle fields as well as a number of Washington sites including the White House and Capitol.
Etiquette Dinner & Dance
After months of dance instruction and etiquette lessons, the eighth grade class enjoys the annual Etiquette Dinner and Dance in the Max Wilford Gym. The gym is transformed into a beautiful dining and ballroom for the event.
Pusch Ridge - High School
Community Service
All High School students are required to complete eight hours per quarter of community service as part of their Bible class grade. Students are encouraged to seek outside organizations and ministries to complete this requirement, although a number of opportunities are made available through the school.
High School Retreat
The entire high school student body travels to two camps in Prescott, AZ at the beginning of the school year. During this three-day retreat, students participate in numerous activities such as praise and worship chapels, workshops, class activities and free- time. Combined with evening programs, the retreat provides our high school students with the opportunity to rekindle friendships, and in some cases form new ones, and to bond as classes. They are encouraged in their walk with the Lord, and to understand the spiritual emphasis of our entire school year. This is such an important aspect to our school life that PRCA requires high school students to participate in the retreat.

Dances
Dances and socials are a part of the social life at Pusch Ridge for grades 9-12. Homecoming, SHMORP and Prom are traditions at PRCA.
Honor Choir/Bands – Regional and All-State
Students in the Choral Ensemble and Advanced Band audition each year for the S.E. Arizona Regional Honor Choir and Honor Band. Those who are successful participate in a two-day event preparing for and performing with 100 of their peers in an Honors Performance. Participants in the Honors Choir or Band also audition for the prestigious Arizona All-State Honor Choir or Band.
Project Evergreen
An event planned and executed by Leadership Class, Project Evergreen is held each year before Christmas break in the Amphitheater. The event is designed for 9-12 graders and features praise and worship music, a bon-fire, games, refreshments and movies. A donation of food to the Community Food Bank is required for admission.
Leadership Retreat
Each year the HS Leadership class attends a leadership retreat off campus. This retreat helps to formulate a Biblical understanding of leadership and a sharing of ideas of how to incorporate this both at school and in the community. This is a valuable trip for those in elected leadership positions.

Mexico Missions
Students in Spanish III and IV participate in Mexico missions. From the weekly sales of breakfast burritos in the school cafeteria, which has become a treasured PRCA tradition, students raise money for Mexico missions. The collection and distribution of clothes and household items to churches in Mexico is also facilitated by the Spanish classes.
Shakespeare Festival
All high school students are encouraged to memorize and recite a Shakespeare Monologue. The best from each English class then recite before the entire student body and a panel of judges. The top three winners are then invited to the city-wide ESI Shakespeare Competition which takes place each March at the U of A.
Senior Breakfasts
A privilege of being a senior at Pusch Ridge is the off campus breakfasts that are held quarterly. Students gather for breakfast with several faculty advisors and enjoy the fellowship time.
Senior Blessings
Held during the spring on the Pusch Ridge campus, graduating seniors and their families gather for individual blessings from faculty and staff. The blessings are followed by a dessert reception on the Student Fellowship Plaza.
Senior Girls Luncheon
A special Pusch Ridge tradition is to honor our graduating senior girls at a spring luncheon. This is an opportunity for faculty and staff to celebrate the senior girls accomplishments and to bless them as they begin the next chapter in their lives.
Senior Boys Ridge Run & Steak Fry
One final competition for the senior guys is a timed race along the Ridge. Steaks on the grill cooked and served by PRCA men faculty and fathers, and blessings around the campfire is a fitting closure for our senior boys.
Senior Trip
Each year, the senior class selects a location for a three-day trip to conclude their high school experience. This trip occurs the last week of school, just before graduation and is an opportunity for fun and fellowship before the class members go their separate ways. The trip includes a one-day missions project, as well as fun activities. The class plans this trip and raises funds for it.
