Interact Club
Interact is a service and social club for students ages 14-18, sponsored by the Oro Valley Rotary Club, which guides Interactors in developing local and international service projects. It derives its name from the words ‘international’ and ‘action’. Interact is a student-led offshoot of Rotary International. There are more than 8,600 Interact Clubs in 110 countries, consisting of more than 200,000 students. Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting, offering many opportunities for members to develop valuable leadership and teamwork skills. Each year our club carries out one local service that benefits our community or school, and one international project that allows us to not only help a community other than ours, but to gain an understanding of other cultures and promote goodwill. This year we are coordinating our international project with a high school Interact Club in Lima, Peru, where we hope to raise funds and much needed supplies for one of their many orphanages. In addition to our two large projects, we have several smaller community service projects throughout the year where we team with Oro Valley Rotary Club. Past projects have included food and clothing drives, as well as a water and aid station for a local marathon. Interact is a place to have fun and fellowship while making a positive impact on our community and abroad.

Middle School Chaplains
Two or three students are selected each year to help in the spiritual care of the Middle School. These students meet to plan chapel services and pray for their classmates. The students are selected by a faculty panel based on their application, and faculty selection of students who show spiritual maturity.

Middle School Class Officers
Class elections for Student Council officers are held at the beginning of each school year. Each grade (6 through 8) nominates and votes for class president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. Meetings are held at least once a month to plan and promote class activities and support philanthropic causes.

High School Chaplains
Two or three students are selected each year to help in the spiritual care of the High School. These students plan chapel services and pray for their classmates. The students are selected by a faculty panel based on their application and spiritual maturity. High School Chaplains are required to take the Student Leadership class.

High School Class Officers
Elections for class and student body officers occur each spring for the following school year. Class officers are required to take the Student Leadership class as an elective. This class includes a course of study in Biblical Leadership, as well as the planning of school functions and events.

Student Body Officers
President, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the student body are elected by their peers. All officers are required to take the Student leadership class as an elective.

Praise and Worship Bands
One way our students can use the gifts God has given them to bless our school is to be a member of the Praise and Worship Bands. Both middle school and high school have Praise and Worship Bands featuring instrumental and vocal talent.

Service – School, Community and Around the World
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy students take seriously the mandate from Scripture to be servants. Students serve in our school community, throughout Tucson and around the world.

School

  • After-school Tutoring - National Honor Society students volunteer to provide peer tutoring each afternoon in the library.
  • Annual Special Event - Our major fundraiser couldn't happen without the students. They help with set-up, provide the entertainment, serve as our wait staff, help clean-up and break-down.
  • Throughout the school year, students help by keeping our property looking neat and tidy. Back-to-School Night, School Registration, New Student Orientation and Grandparents Day are some of the events where our students serve the school community.

Community

  • Angel Tree Prison Ministries
  • Bethany House/Gospel Rescue Mission
  • Crisis Pregnancy Centers
  • Individual Churches
  • Senior Citizens Centers
  • Community Food Bank
  • Mexico Missions

Around the World
Mission Trips - Each year a number of students go on missions trips to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to those in other countries. The Spanish III class has made an annual trip to Mexico to help with an orphanage and to serve in that community. The Amor Project in Rocky Point Mexico is a regular mission outreach for our school community.
