Technology

As technology is playing an ever-increasing role in our lives, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is partnering with parents to teach the students how to discern and use it wisely and ethically. It is vital that students learn the skills of discernment and how to become life-long learners in this ever-changing field. Technology allows us to expand our knowledge in Christ, and Pusch Ridge embraces the challenge of integrating technology into the classroom to enrich our curriculums. Pusch Ridge is aware that, as is the case with many wonderful tools, technology can be used to dishonor Christ; however, we strive to help the students learn to make wise choices and to be mindful of consequences as they use technology. God has provided us with the opportunity to take advantage of fast communication, research material, software, and much more to improve academic achievement. Students must become life-long learners today to prepare for the future technological advancement that we cannot even imagine.

IT Service to our Students
Pusch Ridge has a dedicated computer Mac Lab. Classes are offered at both the Middle School and High School levels. Keyboarding is integrated into the Middle School curriculum. A Middle School elective provides opportunity for interested students to be educated in the Microsoft Office Suite. At the High School level students may take Technology electives that include a Microsoft class, Web Page Design, Advanced Web Page Design, iTech and Graphic Design. We also have eight computers in the library available for student use along with a complete Mac Lab. Our science labs integrated computer technology with the use of microscopes for labs, and middle school core classrooms have Internet accessible computers for student use. We desire for our students to see computer use as a normal part of their academic studies in a variety of ways.

IT Service to our Families
Pusch Ridge's new RenWeb School Management Software give parents the ability to access their child’s grades in each of their classes through the Internet. RenWeb is a safe and easy way for families to keep up-to-date online. Once an account has been activated, and the school has posted information, parents and students can use RenWeb to:

  • Check student’s latest grades, attendance and homework
  • Receive emails from teachers
  • Receive emails with school or class information
  • See what homework is not turned in and read notes from student’s teachers
  • View your School Calendar to see all the events from the school calendar and student's own classes and activities automatically collected and personalized
  • Read daily announcements and news

To access RenWeb, please go to www.renweb.com and click on Parents Web Login. All you need is our school code (PRCA-AZ) and your email address on record with the school. Even if you have an email address on file, we are asking that you send us an email (teri.rohne@prca-tucson.org) from the account you plan to use.

IT Service to our Faculty
Each of our faculty has a desktop computer with access to email and the Internet. Almost every Pusch Ridge classroom offers SMART Board interactive whiteboards. Parents are encouraged to use email to communicate with their child’s teachers. Teachers also use their computers to develop lessons and keep grades and attendance records.
