CCA Catalina Island Trip

For the last six years, Cornerstone Christian Academy sixth graders have gone to Catalina Island to learn about the birds, fish, and environment of the Pacific Coast.  The theme of the three days there is "Breaking Your Fears" and the students get a chance to try new things that might be out of their comfort zone.  It helps them to see that they can always depend on God wherever they go.

The sixth graders take an early fight to Los Angeles, catch a shuttle to Long Beach, board a tour boat to Catalina Island, land  at Emerald Bay---all before lunch on the first day.
For the next two days they get to snorkle in Emerald Bay and search for the bright gold Garabaldi fish, kayak and identify several of the birds of that area, visit the on-site aquarium and touch tank, hike around Emerald Bay, plan skits about what they have learned, and have devotions overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  All the while, they have a chance to appreciate God's magnificent creation.

This is a trip that the sixth graders never stop talking about.
