Board Member Bios

Don Tarquin
Don Tarquin graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, primarily in submarines, and was employed in the industry (defense contractors) for 18 years. He taught mathematics at PRCA for 2.5 years. In 2003 he was elected to the PRCA Board and served on this board for five years. In January of 2008, the CFCS Board was activated and he became the Board Chairman. He and his wife Janice are members of Catalina Foothills Church. They have two sons and seven grandchildren.

Kerry Graham

Kerry Graham graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas with a B.A. in Art. He has been a graphic designer and art director for 24 years and is currently the Web Administrator for Family Life Radio and Intentional Living. He and his wife, Kristina, have been married for 15 years and have two children: Kennah, a PRCA student, and Kolton, a CCA student. They are members of Catalina Foothills Church. Kerry has been a board member since 2007 and currently serves as Vice Chairman.

Ed Biggers
Ed Biggers began serving on the CFCS Board in 2010. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, he served as a missile officer in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He then spent 34 years with Hughes Aircraft Co. and served as President of the Hughes Missile Group prior to retirement. He also served as a member of the Defense Science Board, an advisory group for Secretary of Defense for six years. Ed currently is the Chairman of the Board of Regents of Pepperdine University, a member of the Industrial Advisory Group for the University of Arizona School of Engineering, a member of the Tucson Young Life Metro Committee, the Tucson Airport Authority, and is also an elder at the Mountain Avenue Church of Christ. His grandson Matthew Weiss attends PRCA and his granddaughter Olivia Weiss attends CCA.

Charlie Cajero
Charlie Cajero is a Tucson native and graduate of Salpointe High School and the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Science degree in Family and Consumer Studies. Charlie served on the Cornerstone school board during 2006-2007 and rejoined the combined board in 2009. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Development Committee. Charlie have also served on the board of Directors for the Tucson Children’s Museum and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Carondelet Foundation. He and his wife, Cindy, have three children who have attended CFCS since 2002. Currently Kyle and Benjamin are attending PRCA and Madison is at CCA.

Sherri Courtney
Sherri Courtney’s hometown is Columbus, Ohio. Sherri earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Arizona and her Masters of Education from the University of Phoenix. Sherri works with her husband at Andy Courtney Properties, Ltd. Real estate Investments, and she taught for 10 years in the Tucson Unified School District and worked two years as the Great Books core teacher at PRCA. Sherri’s volunteer work includes PRCA Basketball Booster Chair, founding Shakespeare Festival Chair for Cornerstone, and CFCS School Board August 2009-present. Sherri and her husband Andy have two children, Jeremy (Class of 2011) and Gabrielle, who attends PRCA. They are member of Catalina Foothills Church.

Becky LaMear
Born and raised in Barrington, IL, Becky graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in Russian Area Studies and worked for the government shortly after. After moving to Tucson with her husband Bill, she became committed to finding the best education for her children with Christianity as the cornerstone. Along with a few other families, she helped launch Cornerstone Christian Academy in 1998. Becky has served as a CFCS Board member, middle school and high school tennis coach and a parent volunteer. She has three children, two boys Peter and Alex who are graduates of CFCS and a daughter Maddie attending PRCA.

David Mehl
David Mehl has served on the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy School Board since its inception in 1999, and was the Chair of the Board for its first eight years. He has served on the CFCS Board since it was formed in 2008. He and his wife Bonnie share a love for our schools and a strong belief in the importance of Christian education. David graduated from the University of Arizona in 1972 and received his Masters Degree from the University of Illinois in 1975. David is President of Cottonwood Properties, a local Tucson real estate development company. Through the years they have developed numerous real estate projects including Dove Mountain, La Paloma, and Rita Ranch. David serves as an Elder at Catalina Foothills Church and is on the board of Good News Communication. David and Bonnie have two sons Wesley, (Elizabeth who is a Spanish teacher at PRCA) and Carson.

Kristin Vick
Kristin Vick graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She has lived in Tucson for over 20 years and is a charter member of Catalina Foothills Church. Kristin was involved in founding Cornerstone Christian Academy as a result of desiring an academically excellent Christian education for her own children similar to what she experienced in high school in South Florida. Kristin served on the original CCA board for the school's first four years and then again in 2007. She is married to Mike and they have four children who have all gone to Cornerstone and Pusch Ridge. Chelsea who graduated from Wheaton College, Casey who currently attends Wheaton College and Conner and Cameron who are attending PRCA.

Allison Gooding
Allison Gooding is a native of Tucson. She received a law degree from Baylor University in Texas, then practiced law for Patton Boggs, LLP, focusing on financial lending and real estate law. When she moved back to Tucson in 2004, Allison joined Neal Manning Co. Realtors, where she currently sells real estate with her parents & sister.   Besides being an attorney and Realtor, her pride and joy are her four children, Calliann, Luke, Emiline, and Charles. Calliann and Luke currently attend CCA, with Emiline starting kindergarten in the fall. Allison and Alan are active members of Catalina Foothills Church.
